Thanks for visiting Energy Saving Advice!
A simple website setup to share what my family have learned from making our home and energy habits more efficient since 2015.
Back then, it was more about being a bit greener and eco-friendly. But the never ending rise of gas and electricity prices since has forced us to do everything possible to change our daily habits and gradually upgrade our house when funds allowed.
Hopefully you’ll find a few differences from all the other ‘energy saving’ sites online, the main one being it shares real experiences from real people, rather than ad filled articles written by journalists or marketers.
We’ve done a lot, learned a lot, and hope everything we’ve achieved in the process can help you to feel more in control and less worried about your energy bills.
Why I Started This Site
My interest in saving energy at home was inspired by a house move and frustration with the lack of straightforward information on practical energy efficiency.
I felt confused with the endless jargon and out of control of a portion of my outgoings, which was getting bigger every year.
For me, there was no other option but to try to fix it myself, which lead to a lot of reading and experiments in being more efficient with our energy use.
Was it worth it?
Well, not only do we use a fraction of the energy we did back then and have much more manageable bills, but we enjoy the peace of mind from feeling in control of our energy costs again.
That’s despite the current energy crisis, which has been gruelling for so many families and motivated me to share what I’ve learned.
Share Your Energy Saving Successes
We’re all in this together, so feel free to comment and share any energy saving discoveries or successes you’ve had that could help others navigate the current energy market crisis.
The best way to do that is by leaving a comment on any of the articles that interest you.
Thanks again for visiting, and I wish you big savings and little bills.
